Let me first start out by saying this one took a minute to complete. It was a foreclosure that had been sitting for a long time and needed several repairs.
Positives: Sits on an unusually large lot at the end of the street. It has a huge detached garage/storage/workshop. Big house.
Negatives: Needed a lot of work and the view out the front porch was a cemetery. Big house.
But the numbers were still there to make it work and the need for a remodeled home in the area was needed for first time home buyers.
Here are some before and after pictures.

Front was repainted and a few windows were replaced and all windows were repainted.

Side view. Everything was repainted and repaired. Also, had to remove some brush.

Backyard/Side View: Uncovered an awesome storage/workshop building. Contractor replaced and rebuilt the roof. The structure was in good condition. Repainted to match the house.

Kitchen: Removed all the old cabinets and flooring. Replaced with brand new cabinets, countertops and appliances. Opened up both entryways to the dining room and living room. Huge difference!

Living Room: New flooring throughout in here and throughout the whole house. New paint throughout.

Guest bathroom: This whole bathroom was redone.

This was probably the biggest change. The main bathroom/laundry opened up into the living room. We closed it off and put a wall up so only the laundry was accessible from the living room. Also added a sink. Main bathroom went down in size but it was more proportioned.
Other things we did: the main bedroom has one really big long closet. We closed it off and opened it up in the middle to make two large walk-in closets. The water heater was moved from one closet to another to open up a hallway in the front of the house.
This was a fun one to watch and make some decisions on. A sweet single mom purchased this house for her family. I’m so glad it went to someone who really appreciates what was completed. Lots and lots and lots of work!
Proof that with the right vision (and a lot of hard work), any house can become a dream home. I’m so proud of how this Birmingham flip turned out!
